Our Library is seeking a responsible, detail-oriented individual to fill the full-time Finance & Human Resources Assistant position at Cook Park Library in Libertyville. This role actively collaborates with the Library's Business Manager, Bookkeeper, HR and Recruiting partners to ensure accurate and confidential handling of payroll, personnel and financial records.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Processes bi-weekly payroll through outsourced payroll service, including employee deductions and salary adjustments. Collaborates with staff to streamline payroll operations, oversee payroll software updates and utilization, and promptly addresses and resolves any payroll-related issues. Handles monthly billing and reconciliation tasks for pension (IMRF) and other benefit plans. Posts open positions to various on-line job boards and Applicant Tracking System as directed by recruiting. Coordinates with hiring managers and HR to onboard new employees and offboard terminating/retiring employees. Maintains employee personnel files and monitors employee leave balances. Distributes and keeps record of vehicle parking stickers, key and fob allocations. Oversees the collection and deposit of funds as needed, including from coin/bill acceptor machines. Compiles and drafts statistical information for monthly reports and annual surveys. Assists with preparing portions of the annual budget and annual audit when applicable. Oversees records disposal in accordance with State requirements. Facilitates the employee performance review process. Ensures the proper handling of sensitive, confidential information. Requirements:

High school diploma required; further education or certifications in accounting/finance or payroll management preferred. Minimum three years' experience in payroll processing, with experience in Paylocity payroll system preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel. Experience with financial reporting and personnel records management in public or non-profit organizations is desired. Strong organizational and communication skills with proven ability to work collaboratively.

Salary & Benefits:
