Studio Marie is seeking a Project Manager to work as part of a team, overseeing all aspects of a project from design to construction administration. We are looking for an applicant that is self-motivated, capable of communicating effectively, and managing multiple projects from design through construction. This is a NYC-based position with options for remote-work.
Located in DUMBO, our office is a unique and collaborative workplace with an engaging and creative environment. We are an interior design firm specializing in combined disciplines of both interior architecture and design to offer clients a truly holistic approach to the design process. Our studio specializes in high-end residential, with particular experience in working with NYC brownstones.
This is a part-time position that starts immediately. Pending performance and fit there would be potential for an expanded hours. The ideal candidate will be an organized leader with a minimum of 6 years’ experience in the preparation of architectural contract documents, details and specifications. Our Project Manager will collaborate directly with the Principal and an energetic design team.
Job Responsibilities
- Manages Owner/Client relationship and expectations to allow Principal and team to work effectively, efficiently and collaboratively.
- Schedules and leads internal team weekly project meetings; develops the meeting agenda and project status update.
- Oversee the production of BIM models and construction drawings.
- Review Submittals in context of project scope in a timely manner with light oversight.
- Review Request for Information (RFI) in a timely manner with little to no oversight
- Generate input on code research.
- Finalize and distribute meeting minutes in a timely manner.
- Drafting and computer modeling in SketchUp and AutoCAD required.
- Coordination of all consultants.
- Coordination of 1-2 designer level staff, including identifying tasks and delegating work to team support members.
Minimum Qualifications
- Professional Architecture Degree.
- Minimum 6 years of experience or equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Licensure a plus, but not necessarily a requirement;
- Demonstrated strength of technical knowledge and design sensibility;
- Demonstrated knowledge of 3D modeling & BIM documentation tools, including CAD and Sketchup;
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, relationship management, and mentoring skills;
- Demonstrated experience of responsibility for project planning, budgeting, scheduling, quality, and mentoring of multiple project teams in technical delivery concurrently.
- General understanding of sustainable strategies and principles including familiarity with LEED or other green building rating systems.
- Strong expertise in the NYC market with particular emphasis on brownstone renovations and LPC approvals.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead project teams and manage project schedule, budget and program.
- Familiarity with standard AIA contracts and sub-consultants management experience required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Adobe Suite.
