Position Summary:
The Golf Course Maintenance Staff will perform various tasks related to the upkeep and maintenance of the golf course. This role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions to ensure the course remains in top condition. The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Key Responsibilities: Course Maintenance:
Assist in mowing, trimming, and edging of greens, fairways, tees, and roughs. Help with the maintenance and repair of bunkers, including raking and edging. Participate in the application of fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides as directed.
Irrigation and Water Management:
Assist with the operation and maintenance of the irrigation system, including monitoring and adjusting as needed. Help with the installation and repair of irrigation components and systems.
Equipment Operation:
Operate various golf course maintenance equipment, including mowers, tractors, and sprayers, safely and efficiently. Perform routine checks and maintenance on equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
General Maintenance Tasks:
Assist with general landscaping tasks, including planting, weeding, and mulching. Help with debris removal and clean-up of the course, including fallen branches and trash. Support special projects and course improvements as directed by the Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
Safety and Compliance:
Follow all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Adhere to environmental regulations and best practices in the application of chemicals and management of resources.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other maintenance staff and supervisors to ensure effective and efficient operations. Communicate any equipment or course issues to supervisors promptly.
Qualifications: Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience:
Prior experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or golf course maintenance is a plus but not required. Skills:
Ability to operate and maintain golf course equipment safely. Basic knowledge of turf management and landscaping practices is beneficial. Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work well in a team environment. Good physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions. Willingness to learn and take direction from supervisors.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to perform repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain. Compensation: Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
