We are looking for a Full-time scrub tech familiar with Ortho, Podiatry, Gyna, Neuro Spine, Gen Surg and Pain Management. Benefits

HOURS: MUST HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION TO LOCATION. This position requires that you are able to travel to at least 4 different locations in Chicago (2 locations), Des Plaines, and Addison, IL. Hours will be discussed at the time of interview. PAY: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour Qualifications

Under the supervision of the Surgical Manager, maintain provision of supplies, instruments and equipment in an efficient, safe and sanitary manner, and maintain quality controls. Adheres to HIPAA policies and ensure privacy, confidentiality and patient rights are respected at all times. Education

Must have graduated from a credited school and produce a Certified Surgical Technician certificate from the state of Illinois. CPR in Basic Life Support, ACLS required. Experience

Previous experience in post-anesthesia, ICU, CCU, or emergency surgical room is preferred of at least 6 months. Duties and Responsibilities

Check surgeon\'s preference card for information about the procedure. Pull instrument trays and supplies as needed based on surgeon\'s preferences. Open instruments and supplies on the back table utilizing aseptic techniques. Dons scrubbing, gowning and gloving and setup of mayo stand and back table. Perform surgical count of instruments, sponges and sharps with the circulator. Participate with the surgical team in the time-out procedures prior to surgical cut time. Gown and glove other surgical team members. Assist with draping and passing out accessory hoses and lines to the circulator. Intra-op: Organize mayo stand and back table; hand instruments and sutures to the surgeon as required; remove and discard soiled sponges from the field; notify circulator of additional supplies, instruments and equipment needed; pass out specimens off the field to the circulator; perform additional count when new sponges are added; ensure proper function of instruments prior to handing them to surgeons. Post-op: Discard all disposable items into appropriate containers; remove soiled instruments and equipment and transport to the soiled utility room; dispose sharps in appropriate container; discard suction containers and other containers with biohazard fluids per facility policy; assist in room turnover, clean and sanitize room and equipment and prepare for the next procedure; discard disposable anesthesia supplies and replace with new ones as needed.
