Summary of the position: The Communications & Social Media Manager leads a unified strategy for how our church communicates—internally and externally—so people clearly hear the Gospel, know what’s coming next, understand our vision, and take their next step with Jesus. This role communicates brand voice and direction across social media, website, email/SMS, app, paid ads, and our church podcast. The position partners with staff to deliver clear, timely, and compelling communication.

Experience and Knowledge Required:

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva Pro, and basic video/audio editing tools.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively

Strong attention to detail and proven track record of effective time management

Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and grammatical skills

Experience with social media platforms, digital advertising, and podcast distribution.

Project management skills with ability to meet deadlines in high-pressure environments.

Strong communication skills across all departments and ministries.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Social Media

Build and execute platform specific content strategies.(Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, etc.)

Plan 6-8 week rolling content calendar tied to sermon series, key events, seasons, ministry highlights, and initiatives.

Assist with the moderation and triage of messages and request received through social channels.

Track and report performance of various outlets quarterly.

Strategize and improve reach and engagement across all platforms.

Assist with managing and resourcing additional social accounts across our departments and campuses.

Build and manage various types of paid advertising campaigns across platforms.

Communications and Marketing

Develop, implement, and oversee effective communication strategy to ensure Dream Team and Congregation are adequately informed of upcoming events, initiatives, and series.

Coordinate with worship department on Sunday announcement process.

Resource and train individual ministries and campuses to ensure they have the tools to communicate effectively.

Update Calvary website and app weekly to ensure up to date information.

Manage text, email, and other communication platforms for church wide communication.

Lead seasonal and event marketing initiatives. (Christmas, Easter, Groups, Etc.)

Coordinate billboards, mailers, digital ads, and other streams when required.

Measure and report cost and return of various marketing channels at the end of each campaign.

Podcast Management

Coordinate and execute podcast production: scheduling, recording, editing, show notes, thumbnails, etc. for Calvary’s discipleship podcast.

Distribute podcasts to all major platforms and repurpose content into various communication materials. (posts, reels, etc.)

Track and report key metrics for the podcast.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in Sunday and event communications support including order of service, signage, and post-event follow-up.

Oversee volunteers, freelancers, and vendors supporting communications and marketing efforts.

Assist with volunteer capture team and communicate various needs for effective posts.

Stay up-to-date with communication technologies and social media trends.
