Classical (Benign) Hematologist

to join our renowned Hematology Division within the Department of Medicine. This is a unique opportunity to practice in a thriving academic medical center located in the heart of the Texas Medical Center—one of the largest and most comprehensive medical campuses in the world.

About the Role We are seeking a compassionate, patient-centered

Classical (Benign) Hematologist

to diagnose, treat, and manage non-malignant hematologic disorders. This role is ideal for a physician who is passionate about providing high-quality, evidence-based care and contributing to research and education in a dynamic academic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and manage a wide range of benign hematologic conditions, including anemia, clotting disorders, sickle cell disease, hemophilia, and thrombophilia.

Perform procedures such as bone marrow biopsies and blood transfusions when clinically indicated.

Develop individualized treatment plans informed by the latest clinical guidelines.

Collaborate across disciplines to deliver comprehensive, coordinated care.

Educate patients and families about their condition, treatment options, and long-term management strategies.

Participate in research initiatives and quality improvement projects.

Contribute to teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.

Qualifications

Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency.

Fellowship training in Hematology or Hematology/Oncology with a focus in benign hematologic disorders.

Board Certified/Board Eligible in Hematology.

Eligible for a Texas medical license.
