About the Data Engineering Team
Our Data Engineering team is at the forefront of Walmart’s digital transformation, building robust, cloud‑native data platforms that enable real‑time analytics and actionable insights. We operate in a collaborative, cross‑functional environment, partnering with business and technology leaders to deliver innovative solutions. As a Senior Engineer, you’ll help define our technical direction and ensure our data infrastructure supports Walmart’s ambitious growth and customer‑centric goals. What You’ll Do
Architect and design scalable real‑time data streaming solutions (Kafka, AWS Kinesis, Spark Streaming, Databricks) Lead cloud migration and optimize data infrastructure across AWS and Azure Develop orchestration workflows with Apache Airflow and enhance Spark on Kubernetes/ECS Implement low‑latency analytics and robust monitoring (Sumologic, QuickSight, Power BI) Mentor engineering teams and drive best practices in cloud‑native data architecture What You’ll Bring
6+ years in data engineering/software development Deep expertise in Kafka, Spark Streaming, AWS Kinesis, and distributed systems Advanced skills in SQL, Python, Scala, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) Experience with Kubernetes, AWS ECS, and optimizing large‑scale data pipelines Strong troubleshooting, communication, and cross‑team collaboration skills At Walmart, we offer competitive pay as well as performance‑based bonus awards and other great benefits for a happier mind, body, and wallet. The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00‑$180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area. Option 2: 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
