The Role:
The Graduate Associate will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of S&P Dow Jones and iBoxx indices. Your skills in Data Management will be important in researching a wide range of datasets for Fixed Income securities to then be used for index management and maintenance. Your role is key in maintaining index integrity and compliance with methodologies, providing valuable insights to clients globally.
The Team:
The Fixed Income Operations Team within the Global Index Management & Production Group (“IMPG”). The team is responsible for the calculation, maintenance and dissemination of S&P and iBoxx-branded indices globally.

The Graduate Associate will have the opportunity to work with data from a wide range of fixed income securities across global markets and must ensure quality, accuracy and timely delivery of these data points to internal stakeholders and external clients.

Responsibilities:
Manage and analyze a wide range of data sets for Fixed income securities – such as security Reference data, Corporate actions, ESG data and others - to ensure data quality, accuracy, and timely delivery for index production and maintenance.
Conduct data quality checks, implement validation and verification processes, and maintain high standards of data quality.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and index managers to understand data requirements and ensure indices comply with their methodologies and objectives.
Assist with detailed analysis of recommended data changes to the relevant index committees for review and decision making.
Assist with user acceptance testing and help implement improvements to the Fixed Income Data technology toolkit to enable operational efficiencies and best practices for the data management team.
Assist with onboarding of new data feeds and/or datasets, ensuring seamless integration into existing systems.
Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and other factors affecting the Fixed Income markets and ESG trends.
Assist in preparing reports and presentations related to Fixed income data analysis for internal and external clients.
Provide timely and accurate responses to enquiries from clients via internal functions such as Client and Index Services.
What We’re Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field.
Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), demonstrating the ability to handle data and presentations effectively.
A foundational understanding of fixed income securities, reference data, and market practices.
Intellectual curiosity and a strong desire to learn and apply new knowledge in your work.
Ability to conduct independent analysis and research, showing initiative and resourcefulness.
Strong relationship-building skills, emphasizing collaboration and effective communication with team members.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong listening techniques and the ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
Problem-solving, time-management, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
Additional, preferred qualifications and experience:
Familiarity with SQL and Python would be an advantage.
Any professional experience (e.g. internships) working with financial data, especially within the fixed income domain would be an advantage.
