FLRAA Software Process, Tools, and Governance

What you’ll be doing as a Software Process Engineer: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Software Engineer to oversee the software development process for our software team.

This role will focus on managing configuration management, ensuring seamless interaction between Azure DevOps and Dimensions, and optimizing DevSecOps pipelines. Design, implement, and maintain DevSecOps pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.

Author, develop, and maintain Matlab scripts to enhance model-based software development.

Write and maintain scripts in Python to support automation and integration tasks.

Utilize YAML to configure and manage pipeline workflows and deployment processes.

Collaborate with software development teams to understand requirements and ensure pipeline alignment with project goals.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to pipeline execution and automation.

Monitor pipeline performance and optimize workflows for efficiency and reliability.

Document pipeline configurations, processes, and best practices. Train team members on tool usage and best practices for integrated workflows.

Stay up-to-date with emerging DevSecOps tools and practices to continuously improve workflows.

This employment will require access to information controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR 22 CFR 120-130) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR 15 CFR 710-774).

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.

What you need to be successful:

Bachelor’s degree with a Major in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering. Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience.

Minimum 2 years’ software development experience

Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation tasks.

Experience with YAML for configuration management and workflow definition.

Proficiency with MathWorks tools such as Matlab, Simulink, and Stateflow. Familiarity with using these tools for software development.

Experience programming in C/C++ for embedded applications.

Basic understanding of DevSecOps principles and practices, including CI/CD pipelines.

Familiarity with APIs, web services, and data exchange formats (e.g., XML, JSON).

Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development processes, tools integration, and automation, with a passion for driving efficiency and quality in safety-critical software development.
