UCSF-GoHealth Urgent Care operates urgent care centers across the San Francisco area. The Radiologic Technologist (RT) works with Medical Providers and/or Medical Assistants in the examination and treatment of GoHealth Urgent Care patients. This role is responsible for providing a variety of technical procedures and applying prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis, performing and analyzing patient x-rays, and reporting results to Medical Providers. The RT will also provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of GoHealth Urgent Care Centers. In a collaborative manner, the RT will support Medical Providers, Medical Assistants and patients through tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for x-ray services as needed
  • Under the direction of the clinical provider, perform x-ray services for patients by applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups from newborn to elderly
  • Ensure patients are positioned correctly on or in front of equipment and protected during use
  • Push patient in a wheelchair as needed
  • Patient Registration: conduct registration, secure required paperwork and insurance documentation, verify insurance eligibility, process co-pays and schedule patient appointments, coordinate provider referrals to assigned specialists, and answer patient questions
  • Patient Preparation and Rooming: inform technical staff of patient flow, prepare patients for examination, record medical history, confirm purpose of visit, perform preliminary vital signs, and escalate critical cases to the provider
  • Point of care testing when needed (e.g., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG) and provide information to the provider
  • Stocking: maintain exam rooms, front desk, and reception area; manage supply inventory and check expiration dates
  • Administrative: maintain medical records, answer calls, manage mail, ensure reception is organized, conduct follow-ups, and perform opening/closing duties including equipment calibration and QA/QC logs

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma required; graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program required
  • Work Experience: Experience in a clinical setting preferred
  • Licenses/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire; ARRT registration required at time of hire; State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required at time of hire as applicable by state law

Compensation and Schedule

Hourly rate: $43-$55. Bonus eligible up to $600/month. Schedule: Two days per week (weekdays only), 12 hour shifts from 8am to 8pm.
