Lockton Affinity, in Overland Park, Kansas is searching for an Accounting Manager to join our Accounting team. The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the financial reporting unit, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all financial data. This role plays a critical part in safeguarding company assets, developing and enforcing accounting policies, and supporting strategic financial planning. The Accounting Manager also provides leadership and direction to the accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and internal reports.
  • Manage producer ledger accounting, including related payments and reporting.
  • Oversee general ledger operations and ensure timely month-end and year-end closings.
  • Supervise treasury functions, including administration of banking software and cash management.
  • Manage vendor relationships and oversee expense payment processes.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal financial policies.
  • Develop and implement accounting procedures and internal controls to protect company assets.
  • Stay current with changes in accounting standards, legislation, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of financial and personnel information.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated progressive experience in accounting, including supervisory roles and multi-entity management.
  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to work extended hours during peak periods.
  • High ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines efficiently.
