We are launching people to the moon and Mars. If you want to be part of this amazing mission and enjoy working in a great team environment, we would love to have you as part of our team that is making history today. It takes big ideas and determination to turn NASA's vision into reality.
The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.
The Launch Control Systems team is responsible for designing, building, and testing software, hardware, and networking systems used to launch the next generation rocket for NASA. As part of the Launch Control System Test team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing system-level testing.
Understanding the system architecture is crucial for designing and executing system-level test events. The System Software Test Engineer will create and perform test campaigns for new software. The candidate should have the technical background to learn and apply knowledge in large-scale, multi-platform system acceptance testing.
Ideal candidates are quick learners, capable of working independently and in teams, self-motivated, and highly motivated. You will join a strong team with a history of excellent performance in a challenging and rewarding environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Supporting verification of the Launch Control Subsystem (LCS) System Software, working directly with multiple support groups.
Supporting the Test Engineering group for the LCS, interfacing with multiple test groups associated with the Space Launch System (SLS) Firing Room.
Participating in training to understand LCS and system threads.
Participating in design reviews, technical assessments, and system use case analysis to understand how new capabilities impact system design and dependencies.
Performing other duties within the Test Engineering department, including process improvements.
Having experience with software development processes, including requirements, coding, and testing, is a plus.
Working with software tools for requirements management, test procedures, and issue tracking.
Interpreting written information and communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
