The COMET contract manages ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs. The Launch Control Systems team designs, builds, and tests the software, hardware, and networking systems used to launch the next-generation rocket for NASA. As part of the Launch Control System Test team, you will be responsible for system-level testing, understanding system architecture, and creating test campaigns for new software. Responsibilities include: Supporting verification of the Launch Control Subsystem (LCS) System Software. Supporting the Test Engineering group for the LCS, interfacing with multiple test groups involved with the Space Launch System (SLS) Firing Room. Participating in training to understand LCS and system threads. Engaging in design panels, technical assessments, and system use case analysis. Performing duties within the Test Engineering department, including process improvements. Understanding software development processes, including requirements, coding, and testing. Using various software tools for requirements, test procedures, and workflow management. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, experience with Linux OS, MS Office, and 2+ years in Command and Control Systems or similar. Bash scripting experience is a plus. Physical requirements involve climbing stairs, wearing PPE, and working in hazardous environments. The work environment may be inside or outside, requiring travel and physical activity like walking on uneven terrain and climbing ladders. The position offers full-time hours, possible overtime, and shift work. Other functions include effective communication, travel, maintaining safety standards, and a positive work attitude. On-site amenities at Kennedy Space Center include a Child Development Center, fitness facilities, and discounts to local attractions.
