Summary:
Veridos is looking for a highly motivated Application Support Engineer to work remotely supporting and maintaining enterprise applications used in secure identity solutions. In this role, you’ll serve as the technical bridge between internal stakeholders and external customers supporting production systems, driving software deployments, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring high availability of critical applications.
You will play an essential part across the full software lifecycle from requirements and configuration through deployment and post-release support. This is a remote position with occasional travel to internal and customer sites.
Primarily Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and resolve software, hardware, network, and OS-related application issues (2nd and 3rd level support).
Partner with developers, system administrators, and IT teams to resolve complex problems.
Configure commercial applications, including facial recognition, image capture, and SQL/NoSQL database solutions.
Administer applications hosted on Windows Server and IIS environments.
Manage end-to-end software deployment processes, versioning, testing, packaging, and production rollout.
Leverage CI/CD pipelines and automation tools to streamline releases and implement rollback procedures.
Maintain and communicate release notes and documentation for internal and client use.
Monitor system performance using alerts and diagnostic tools; respond proactively to prevent downtime.
Ensure changes meet organizational policies, security standards, and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and development teams to optimize deployment workflows.
Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical users and stakeholders.
Document known issues, troubleshooting steps, deployment standards, and configuration records.
Participate in technical client meetings, solution reviews, and product demonstrations.
Support scripting, minor development efforts, and software customizations as needed.
Assist in data migration, transformation, and integration for new implementations or upgrades.
Contribute to continuous improvement of release, support, and configuration management practices.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience in application support, software development, or IT systems administration in a Windows-based environment.
Strong troubleshooting skills in SQL (queries, stored procedures, functions) and NoSQL (JSON, HTTP/API interfaces).
Experience managing Windows Servers, IIS, and authentication settings.
Foundation in object-oriented programming (Java or C#).
Familiarity with basic networking protocols (DNS, TCP/IP, VPNs).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical issues.
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable working independently with limited supervision, and capable of driving issues to resolution.
Willingness to provide after-hours support for critical deployments and issue response.
Ability to travel occasionally to customer and internal locations.
Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening in accordance with applicable laws.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with software deployment tools such as InnoSetup.
Familiarity with biometrics software or identity verification workflows.
Understanding of Apache Tomcat, uptime monitoring, and performance tuning.
Prior experience managing resolution time metrics and ticket escalation workflows.
The pay range for this position is $90,000 - $101,000 per year and is eligible for an annual bonus.
