Reporting to the Controller and working closely with the Accounting Team and organization employees, the AR/AP Specialist supports the full cycle of accounting related to accounts receivable and payable. Responsibilities include producing customer invoices, maintaining cash receipt records, applying payments, performing collections outreach, and processing Accounts Payable, including reviewing vendor invoices, preparing weekly payments, and maintaining vendor records. Accuracy, confidentiality, and reliability are essential. Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable
Prepare and verify customer invoices, making adjustments as needed. Apply payments in Salesforce/Certinia and third-party platforms. Review bank transactions, maintain check logs, and prepare deposits. Process credit card payments via Authorize.net and record transactions. Reconcile AR records monthly. Follow up on delinquent accounts with the Controller. Accounts Payable
Review and record vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding. Prepare weekly payment batches for the Controller's review. Respond to invoice and payment inquiries. Maintain vendor records and documentation. Assist with account reconciliations and 1099 preparations. Qualifications and Skills
Associate’s degree in Accounting or 3+ years of AR/AP experience. Knowledge of GAAP accounting. High accuracy in invoicing and payments. Excellent communication skills. Detail-oriented, deadline-focused, multitasking ability. Experience with Salesforce, Certinia, Bill.com, and advanced Excel skills. About Education Week
