What The Role Entails
CloudHQ seeks an Assistant Electrical Manager, with a solid background in data center electrical system operation, to join our Operations Team. You'll play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of our facility, reporting to the Electrical Manager. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of large-scale data centers, including electrical distribution systems, static UPS, emergency standby systems, fire alarm/suppression, and security infrastructures. Additionally, a thorough understanding of building monitoring systems that support electrical infrastructure management is essential.
The Assistant Electrical Manager will schedule, coordinate, and participate in all significant planned and emergency maintenance activities for the facility. They will ensure these activities are executed in a controlled manner that maintains the integrity of the critical loads supported by these systems. Your skills will be utilized fully as you collaborate with our team to ensure smooth operations.
What You Will Get to Do
Develop operating and maintenance strategies to ensure continuous availability of critical systems
Develop and update preventative and predictive maintenance programs for critical equipment
Create procedures and maintenance checklists within the site’s CMMS platform
Oversee the training content for the site’s contract staff
Coordinate and inspect services performed by outsourced vendors
Manage costs and budgets related to electrical infrastructure and operations
Maintain diligence in policies and proven processes
Ensure adoption and enforcement of best practices and standards
Identify and pursue opportunities for innovation
Establish and cultivate relationships with internal and external contacts
Collaborate with design and development teams to incorporate optimal electrical solutions
Requirements
Proficiency in reading design documents and using Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Project, Visio, or AutoCAD
Strong written communication and technical writing skills
Ability to solve complex problems analytically and organizationally
Ability to identify industry trends and assess their impact on data center operations
Ability to identify opportunities to increase efficiency
Willingness to work extended hours when necessary
Responsiveness to emails after hours during emergencies
Our Ideal Candidate Will Also Possess
At least three (3) years of experience in operations and maintenance within a high-reliability data center environment
An Electrical Engineering Technology Degree or equivalent
