Bennett Thrasher "BT" seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented
Data Steward
to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining and enforcing data standards and policies, ensuring robust data governance, and managing Microsoft Purview and SOC 2 compliance efforts. This role is essential in maintaining the integrity, quality, and security of our data assets.
Responsibilities
Define Data Standards and Policies: Develop and implement data standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency, accuracy, and accessibility of data across the organization. Data Governance: Establish data governance frameworks, including roles, responsibilities, and processes for data management, stewardship, and accountability. Microsoft Purview Management: Oversee the deployment, configuration, and usage of Microsoft Purview to enhance data discovery, classification, and lineage tracking. SOC 2 Compliance: Lead efforts to achieve and maintain SOC 2 compliance, including risk assessments, control implementation, and audit preparations. Data Quality Assurance: Monitor data quality metrics and perform regular data audits to identify and resolve issues promptly. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with data analysts, and business stakeholders to understand their data needs and ensure alignment with data governance practices. Training and Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data standards, policies, and governance processes. Provide training to associates on data governance best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Data Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Proven experience in data governance, data stewardship, and data management roles. Strong understanding of data standards, policies, and compliance requirements. Experience with Microsoft Purview and familiarity with its data management capabilities. Knowledge of SOC 2 compliance requirements and experience in leading compliance efforts. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Skills
Certification in data governance or data management. Experience with other data governance tools and platforms. Familiarity with regulatory requirements relevant to data management.
