$19.40 - $23.12 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Position Summary

The Custodian Technician is the point person for the building they are assigned to by the Director of Building and Grounds. They will be working during the school day, where they will be responsive to the needs of the building as they arise related to cleaning and keeping the building in order while also assisting the maintenance M-1 in maintaining and repairing the building and building contents. The Custodian Technician must communicate effectively with administration, faculty, staff, and students during their shift. The Custodian Technician will keep track of all cleaning supplies and equipment inventory and maintenance logs of all cleaning equipment associated with the building to which they are assigned to. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on all cleaning equipment and assist M-1 Maintenance with any minor repairs. Vacuum carpets, clean carpets, mop floors, and sweep floors Clean bathrooms and classrooms as assigned. Clean hallways, entryways, stairwells, and walkways as assigned. Operate floor scrub machines. Clean and repair lockers as needed. Paint walls and ceilings, and floors. Change light bulbs, change air and water filters. Repair clocks, Repair door handles, door hinges, desk repairs, chair repairs. Keep a log of all filter changes. Strip and wax all floors, wash windows, and fix window screens. Unclog sinks and toilets, use proper snake tools when needed. Unload delivered inventory, organize, and put away. Keep records of safety data sheets on all cleaning supplies. Ceiling tile replacement, use of aerial lifts per OSHA safety standards at 8- 25' high. Remove all trash and sanitize garbage cans. Create tasks for student custodians when necessary on summer work and school breaks. Check boilers on routine daily maintenance, log daily pressure. Remove snow from all side walks and sand, and salt walkways and parking as needed. Assist Maintenance with minor building grounds work as needed. Perform all cleaning services in and around the building. Inspect equipment regularly and complete seasonal and daily tune-ups. Track and record maintenance, repairs, and inventory needs. Order parts and supplies in coordination with the Director of Buildings and Grounds. Assist with operating snow removal equipment when necessary. Maintain a clean, organized, and secure equipment storage area. Ensure compliance with safety procedures and environmental regulations. Recommend equipment replacement and upgrades as needed. Work collaboratively with maintenance and custodial teams. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license. Two (2) years of experience with mechanical maintenance or custodian work. Knowledge of cleaning equipment and products. Ability to operate sidewalk snow removal equipment. Preferred Qualifications Special Engineer Boiler license or willing to obtain one within the first 6 months of employment, .50 cents hourly increase once obtained. Previous experience as a school custodian. Pool Certification $.50 hourly increase (secondary site only ) Experience directing/managing employees on a work site Working Conditions Work is performed indoors and some outdoors in varying weather conditions. Physical activity includes lifting up to 50 pounds and pushing, pulling, or dragging up to 75 pounds. Work hours 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, including some early mornings or emergency call-ins for snow removal.
