$18.33 - $21.80 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Position Summary

The Custodian is a general district custodian assigned to a building by the Director of Building and Grounds and will be responsible for the following: Work collaboratively with the Custodian Technician and other custodians at the site to maintain a safe and sanitary school environment. Clean the assigned areas, maintaining and repairing the building and building components. Performing all other duties that may be assigned by the Director of Building and Grounds. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Vacuum and Shampoo carpets and rugs. Sweep and vacuum floors Mop all floors and hallways, and entryways as assigned. Follow all district cleaning maps and procedures per building. Fill in at other buildings when needed. Clean all bathrooms and all Locker rooms, Repair and wash lockers. Change light bulbs and dust and clean light fixtures. Strip and wax all floors. Operate floor scrub machines. Secure all doors and windows before leaving. Move boxes and desks, furniture and shelving in and out of rooms. Load and unload inventory into storage rooms. Check equipment and classrooms daily and report damage to the custodian technician and/or the Director of Buildings and Grounds. Work with students and summer-time workers on building cleaning and repairs. Remove all the garbage and clean the garbage cans, and sanitize them. Assist with sidewalk cleaning and sanding and salting and help maintain grounds. Perform cleaning services in and around the building as needed. Set up and take down furniture and equipment necessary for education programs held in the building. Assist food services in cleaning when needed. Prepare and maintain winter equipment (snow blowers, plows, salt spreaders, shovels) for snow removal operations. Inspect equipment regularly and complete a daily log book. Track and record maintenance, repairs, and inventory needs. Bring to attention the needed parts and supplies in coordination with the Custodian Technician and/or the Director of Buildings and Grounds. Assist with operating snow removal equipment when necessary. Maintain a clean, organized, and secure equipment storage area. Ensure compliance with safety procedures and environmental regulations. Recommend equipment replacement and upgrades as needed. Work collaboratively with maintenance and custodial teams. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license. Knowledge of cleaning supplies and products. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a school district custodian. Working Conditions Work is performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Physical activity includes lifting up to 50 pounds and pushing, pulling, or dragging up to 75 pounds. Work hours may vary seasonally, including early mornings or emergency call-ins for snow removal or weekend event cleaning. Normal hours are approximately 4:00 am - 8:00 am
