About the Opportunity Climate Solutions is looking for a Digital Storytelling Manager who wants to use their storytelling superpowers to create and promote story-centered content on our digital channels and with partners. This position will support Climate Solutions' policy programs and campaigns, helping shift public narratives framing climate and clean energy. The manager will cultivate and educate a digital community of supporters and foster story collaboration with other partners and coalitions to support the growth of the climate movement throughout the region. The Manager will identify story prospects, cultivate relationships, report stories, produce compelling content for digital channels, and promote that content to others. They will also have the opportunity to collaborate and train supporters and partner organizations to deepen knowledge and capacity for storytelling among the ever-growing climate movement in the Pacific Northwest. Reporting to the Senior Director of Communications and Engagement, the Digital Storytelling Manager will focus on instilling story-led communications in Climate Solutions’ work, developing digital content to support field engagement, policy programs, and organizational development. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic nonprofit environment, is passionate about using their storytelling skills to promote both the organization’s mission and community voices, and is excited to work in a collaborative, mission-driven environment. Role Responsibilities: SUCCESS OUTCOMES AND PRIORITIES Works closely with Communications and Engagement staff in Washington and Oregon to develop and execute high-impact, creative digital campaigns targeting multiple priority audiences with distinct engagement goals across channels and organizational brands. Measures the success of story-based social media outreach among various audiences (community partners, policymakers, and community-at-large) and adjusts to social media trends. Works with the Communications and Engagement team to plan and execute marketing campaigns that push forward the organization’s strategic initiatives and goals through content creation, media production, and publishing on social media. Community Engagement & Elevating Community Voices Through Storytelling Cultivates and nurtures key partnerships, broad coalitions, and relationships among priority constituencies, particularly those impacted first and worst by climate including Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color, and people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. Develops and highlights community partners’ successes and barriers and elevates their voices and experiences. Advances equitable storytelling through image- and video-based content as well as written media, increasing community competency in climate conversations while showcasing climate efforts across Washington and Oregon. Cross-Campaigns and Cross-Team Collaboration Works closely with the Washington and Oregon Policy teams to develop stories, content, and clear messaging to engage various communities, partners, and stakeholders regarding events and policy changes, and to increase climate awareness and competencies. Collaborates with Communications and Engagement team and Development team members to support and promote Climate Solutions events, fundraising initiatives, and highlight stories from Climate Solutions’ community. Participate in Climate Solutions staff meetings, trainings, racial equity conversations, retreats, and team meetings. Lead or coordinate meetings when appropriate. Meet staff reporting deadlines for program, development, and administrative tasks Additional duties may be assigned within the course of the work, such as providing excellent customer service internally, participating in relevant meetings and events, maintaining positive working relationships by travelling to other offices, and more.
