You will be responsible for the Profit & Loss of a service with vessel provision. A Line Manager is akin to an entrepreneur whom we entrust and empower him with capital & funds so that he can operate a profitable service. The aim of the LM is to sustain and grow the business to multiple strings within his geographical scope
Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Cost Optimization & Operations Management
Optimize vessel deployment and port operations
by meticulously selecting ships based on optimal intake, speed, and bunker consumption, while accounting for port constraints and negotiating favorable terminal contracts (berth windows, discounts, rebates) Monitor and control daily vessel performance
against Time Charter Descriptions and sister ship benchmarks to ensure bunker consumption efficiency Proactively manage and resolve operational claims
(cargo, container, vessel damage) in collaboration with legal when necessary Trade Lane Strategy & Market Intelligence Develop and refine trade routes
by analyzing prevailing market supply and demand dynamics, competitor activity, and operating conditions Collaborate with Marketing
to consolidate and anticipate customer demand, including seasonal shifts and MLO connections Acquire and analyze trade statistics
and business intelligence to inform strategic decisions Identify opportunities for service differentiation
and increased sailing frequency through own deployment or slot swaps Ensure high vessel schedule integrity
and provide timely updates to maintain critical customer feeder-to-mother connections Revenue Generation & Yield Management Maximize cargo yield
by effectively managing vessel space and prioritizing high Net To Vessel (NTV) returns Structure slot utilization
with a balanced portfolio of structured deals and open slots Actively engage in customer tender exercises
and implement General Rate Increases (GRIs), Rate Restorations (RRs), and Critical Bunker Recoveries (CBRs) in line with cost fluctuations Manage rate quotations and filings
in coordination with the Marketing department Oversee agency performance
across service rotations for vessel operations, cargo bookings, and local customer relationship management Business Development & Client Relations Continuously assess the viability of existing trade routes
and implement changes to enhance efficiency or adapt to market shifts Conduct feasibility studies for new services , exploring solo ventures or consortiums via Vessel Sharing Agreements Play a proactive marketing role
with key clients, directly addressing operational crises for structured space contracts Participate in industry events and business travel
to cultivate and strengthen relationships with key local and international clients Support overseas agents
to ensure seamless operations and client satisfaction Foster effective cross-departmental collaboration
