Overview

The Accounting Manager is a hands-on generalist responsible for month-end close, balance sheet integrity, production costing and margin analysis. This role partners closely with operations, systems, and leadership to deliver accurate financial reporting and actionable insights that support pricing and production decisions.

Base pay range

$95,000.00/yr - $115,000.00/yr

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily/monthly accounting operations including journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly close.
• Maintain fixed asset register, prepaid accounts, and support tax and audit requests.
• Manage costing and variance analysis (estimate vs. actual), customer/segment profitability, and project-level reporting.
• Provide pricing and operational efficiency recommendations based on analyses.
• Supervise and coordinate a small accounting team (AP, AR, staff accountant).
• Ensure month-end and year-end deliverables are completed on time and in compliance with accounting policies.
• Drive process improvements and automation opportunities in collaboration with systems/ERP teams.

Qualifications

• 6–9 years progressive accounting experience; background in cost accounting or production accounting preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Proficient in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables).
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to present findings to non-finance stakeholders.
• Prior people-management or team coordination experience.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
