Job Description - LAUNDRY ATTENDANT - FULL TIME - $2,000 RECRUITING BONUS (250001PH) Job Description LAUNDRY ATTENDANT - FULL TIME - $2,000 RECRUITING BONUS Job Number: 250001PH Primary Location United States-Rhode Island-Newport Organization NGIS Newport Pay Range: $18.70 Job Summary: Provides laundry services to lodging operations with the NEXCOM Hospitality Group (NHG). Duties and Responsibilities: Sorts, washes, dries, folds, bundles, wraps, and issues linen according to instructions or as directed by the Lead Supervisor. Operates commercial washers, dryers, and ironing presses, paying attention to detail to prevent staining, over-bleaching, or over-starching. Loads, unloads, attaches, detaches laundry chemicals manually or using carts, dollies, hand trucks, or similar devices. Follows manufacturer and supervisor instructions on equipment and chemical use; cleans filters and reports malfunctions. Inventories laundry to identify missing or damaged items; maintains records and requests replacements as needed. May pick up and deliver laundry to multiple facilities. Maintains cleanliness of laundry and linen storage areas by sweeping, mopping, dusting, and emptying trash. Documents work performed daily and monthly. May require a valid state driver’s license to travel between facilities. Performs housekeeping or public space duties as needed to cover staff shortages. Maintains guest security and privacy at all times. Performs other related duties as assigned. No experience required; High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Physical Requirements: Requires standing, bending, walking, pushing, pulling, and climbing. Ability to perform strenuous physical labor, including lifting, moving, and carrying up to 45 pounds. Work Environment: Primarily indoors with adequate heat, light, and ventilation; may be very hot near dryers and presses. Some outdoor exposure. Possible contact with dirt, odors, and cleaning irritants. PPE provided and must be worn.
