Project Engineer- Sports and Entertainment Group Mortenson is seeking a Project Engineer that will provide analysis, management, and resolution of field coordination issues with project team members and participants.
This position travels anywhere throughout the United States 100% of the time to various project locations across the United States. This person can be based anywhere in the United States.
Responsibilities Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and craft persons
Implement the pre-construction quality plan
Obtain and maintain all necessary construction permits
Work with Project Manager for fee payments or recurring permit expenses
Develop and maintain: Material Tracking List, Project Test and Inspection Listing, Concrete Placement Log, Non-Conformance Report
Create, oversee, and distribute contract documents
Establish handling procedures for electronic documents, including Request for Information (RFI) and correspondence
Incorporate all processes and procedures that support the project closeout phase
Lead all aspects of testing and inspection processes for the construction quality management program
Handle submittals
Develop and distribute RFIs and Change Orders
Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience
Minimum three years of related experience
Current driver’s license
Detail orientation sufficient to organize and effectively run multiple project tasks
Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
Microsoft Office, project and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level
Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback

Education Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural, Mechanical, and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent field experience

Compensation The base pay range for this role is $82,000 - $110,700. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
