Summary
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Applicants must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit their EDRP application within four months of appointment. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent from an approved school. License:
Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S. Residency Training:
Completion of residency approved by the VA, leading to eligibility for board certification. Approved residencies include ACGME, AOA, or other recognized programs with verified practice experience. Residents:
Enrolled in ACGME/AOA residencies, fully licensed, and appointed as PRPs on a limited basis. PRPs are not independent practitioners and have supervised scope of practice. Language Proficiency:
Proficiency in spoken and written English. Preferred Experience:
Board Certified/Eligible in Psychiatry, experience with Veterans, PTSD, dual diagnoses, and suicide risk assessment. Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform duties involving lifting, carrying, walking, standing, and visual/hearing capabilities as specified. Duties
This is an open continuous announcement until September 22, 2025, or until filled. The first review is August 1, 2025. Prescribing medications, ordering tests, and providing inpatient, outpatient, or consultative services are included. Certification or active participation in psychiatry certification is required. The work schedule is part-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, totaling 30 hours per week.
