Job Description
Position Function: Responsible for managing relationships and generating new mortgage loans from Realtors, referral partners, prospective homebuyers, and borrowers. Spends most of their time performing outside sales and generating their own mortgage production. Interacts with internal and external customers in a manner aligned with the company's Core Values of a “Voyaging Spirit” and being “Positively Ohana”. Demonstrates core competencies such as Active Listening, effective communication, and ownership to ensure positive customer interactions and professional performance. Primary Accountabilities: Originate and close a minimum level of residential mortgage loans per month, as determined by management. Interview applicants to assess their ability to qualify for a mortgage, and analyze their financial situation to recommend suitable loan options. Input customer data into loan origination and related systems, and make credit recommendations to underwriting teams. Monitor the loan process through to recordation. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and bank policies related to home loans. Minimum Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma required. Experience: At least 3 years in the mortgage industry with knowledge of mortgage products, qualifying criteria, and regulatory requirements. A bachelor’s degree can substitute for 2 years of experience. License/Certification: Registration with NMLS is required before performing MLO duties. Valid Driver’s License and ability to operate a vehicle. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions: Perform light physical work, including lifting items up to 20 pounds. Use standard office equipment proficiently. Communicate clearly verbally and in writing. Read and understand bank documents.
