Enterprise Product Owner - Workday
The Workday Product Owner is a strategic role responsible for maximizing the value and adoption of the Workday platform within the organization. This position translates business requirements into specific product needs, manages and prioritizes the Workday product backlog, and collaborates with functional and technical development teams to deliver solutions that align with organizational objectives. This role serves as a liaison between stakeholders and the development teams, ensuring that the Workday platform supports business operations and provides a streamlined user experience.
What You’ll Do
Roadmap and Prioritization
Build and maintain a clear product roadmap for Workday functional areas (e.g., HCM, Payroll, Time Tracking, Recruiting, Learn, etc.) and prioritize features based on business impact, urgency, and organizational goals.
Backlog Management
Prioritize the product backlog, refine user stories, and ensure Workday solutions meet business needs and user expectations.
Stakeholder Management
Serve as an intermediary between stakeholders (HR COEs, IT, business units, Executive team) and functional or technical teams by managing expectations and fostering clear communication. Lead requirements gathering sessions, identify operational pain points, and design scalable, user-centered solutions within the Workday platform.
Configuration and Optimization
Continuously innovate by launching new functionalities, enhancing existing offerings, and optimizing the Workday platform for performance and user experience.
Release Management
Coordinate all aspects of Workday’s bi-annual release, including developing test cases, executing tests, reviewing releases, resolving issues, and verifying test outcomes. Support the adoption of new features and ongoing system maintenance.
Issue Resolution
Support root cause analysis for functional and cross-functional issues, and manage problem and service tickets.
What You’ll Need
Workday Expertise
In-depth knowledge of Workday HCM and relevant areas like Payroll, Time Tracking, Recruiting, Compensation, Absence Management, and Learn.
Technical Knowledge
Understanding of Workday architecture, configuration, customization, integration, reporting, and test automation tools and methodologies.
Product Ownership Experience
Proven experience in product ownership or management roles within enterprise systems or ERP platforms.
Leadership and Collaboration
Ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage stakeholders, and foster collaboration.
Communication
Effective verbal and written communication skills across organizational levels.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
Ability to analyze problems, evaluate solutions, and make informed decisions.
Agile and Scrum Mastery
Deep understanding of Agile and Scrum frameworks, including backlog management, sprint planning, and ceremonies.
The starting pay range for this position is:
$129,400.00 - $172,000.00
