Job Overview
An Intellectual Property Associate Attorney is sought to join a San Francisco-based firm’s Hatch‑Waxman and pharmaceutical patent litigation team. The role involves managing a full spectrum of litigation work – from pre‑suit investigations and discovery to motion practice, trial and appeal – collaborating with nationally recognized IP litigators, scientists and technical experts. Key Responsibilities
Manage all phases of Hatch‑Waxman and pharmaceutical patent litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation. Draft and edit briefs, expert reports, and dispositive motions. Collaborate with partners, technical teams, and clients to craft litigation strategy. Conduct legal and regulatory research related to patent and FDA issues. Participate in court hearings, depositions and client meetings. Provide strategic counsel on patent risk, regulatory compliance, and exclusivity matters. Qualifications
2+ years of experience in Hatch‑Waxman or pharmaceutical patent litigation. Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Admission to a U.S. State Bar in good standing. Technical background in chemistry, biology, biochemistry or related life sciences. USPTO registration is preferred. Strong legal writing, research and analytical skills.
