ECU Health Physicians and the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at East Carolina University’s Brody School of Medicine are seeking fellowship trained BE/BC Adult Psychiatrists to serve as Medical Director of their Consultation‑Liaison Service. The successful candidate will provide inpatient care at the new ECU Health Behavioral Health Hospital and at nearby ECU Health Medical Center. New graduates and visa candidates are welcome to apply.

Hospital privileges at ECU Health Medical Center and at ECU Health Behavioral Health Hospital
Academic appointment at East Carolina University’s Brody School of Medicine
Typical day starts at 8 am and ends at 5 pm (M-F) primarily inpatient
Provider supervises residents and may provide consultation services at ECU Health Medical Center and the Emergency Department.
Oversight of up to 2 residents with a capacity maximum of 24 beds.
On call is phone only nights and weekends.
Referral network includes 29 county service area with a population of 1.4 million people.
Competitive Compensation and Comprehensive Benefits: Administrative Stipend, Relocation, Paid Vacation, Sick, Holidays, Malpractice/Tail Coverage, 401k matching/457, Medical, Dental, Vision.
Required Qualifications
MD or DO graduated from an AAMC approved medical school
Completion of an accredited psychiatry residency or combined medicine‑psychiatry residency
Board Certification in Psychiatry or eligibility to obtain within 12 months
Medical licensure in the State of North Carolina
Psychosomatic Medicine Fellowship preferred
