W3Global . The Director manages a multi-disciplined team to plan, construct, and renovate healthcare and life sciences facilities. Candidates must excel in design and project management for Acute and Ambulatory Care Health Facilities as well as Academic and Corporate Research Facilities. Position Summary
The Director builds and maintains client relationships, responds to RFPs, and presents and interviews for potential projects. The successful candidate will develop conceptual designs, perform peer review of final designs, oversee staffing and resource planning, and manage the overall coordination and execution of projects. Responsibilities
Provide management, mentoring, and overall team oversight for the team for respective discipline and support cross-discipline coordination. Manage and oversee overall technical quality and QA/QC process for the department for respective discipline utilizing our QA/QC process forms/checklists. Supervise and manage team of direct reports and assigned engineers on each project. Work with Management staff to maintain scheduling of project deadlines and manpower assignments. Develop and write bid proposals, contracts, cost estimates, and other documents using agreed upon methods and standards. Provide deep engineering expertise and problem solving in drawings, designs, specifications, and calculations. Provide hands‑on project management by reviewing project plans and timelines to ensure projects are on time and on budget. Establish and maintain excellent client relationships, ensuring the highest level of responsiveness and communication. Collaborate with other Department Directors to maintain efficient operation. In conjunction with VP and President, hire, train, and mentor engineering staff. Write performance appraisals and mediate performance issues. Coordinate with accounting to ensure compliance with accounting protocols. Maintain department budget and revenue projections. Support department marketing efforts related to area of expertise. Qualifications
Deep knowledge of multi‑discipline engineering (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection) for critical care healthcare projects. Understanding of laboratory mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design. Proficient in construction documents and detailed design for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical/IT systems within healthcare. Strong project management and communication skills. Knowledge of local, state, and national code requirements (NFPA, Joint Meeting, FGI, AHJ). Experience with load analysis and energy modeling programs (eQUEST, Trane Trace, ENERGY STAR, Carrier HAP). Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit. Knowledgeable of USGBC LEED Rating system and standards is a plus. Excellent time management and ability to meet frequent deadlines. Strong financial management skills and business acumen. Ability to plan and manage projects to achieve client demands and deadlines. Ability to direct and manage internal and external resources. Able to manage and direct workflow of others. Able to prioritize and multi‑task. Excellent in‑person communication skills. Capable of effectively training and mentoring others. Able to work collaboratively within company departments and with clients. Excellent Microsoft Office abilities. Able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Education and Experience
Professional Engineer (PE) certification. Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering. At least 15 years of progressive engineering and managerial experience with a strong record of accomplishment in design and project management for critical care facilities and laboratories. Experience in the execution of designs and the management of a multi‑disciplined team of MEP engineers and designers. Benefits
