Locum Hematology/Oncology Physician – Coupeville, WA
Make $450/hr – $465/hr
Aya Locums has an immediate opening for a Hematology/Oncology physician at a Critical Access facility in Coupeville, WA. The assignment starts 02‑23‑26 and lasts 13 weeks.
Schedule & Coverage
Shift coverage: Scheduled + On Call required
Shift schedule: Standard 5, 8‑hour (08:00 – 17:00)
Job Responsibilities
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with blood disorders and various cancers, including administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and other treatment modalities.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, manage side effects, and coordinate care with other specialists.
Consult with other physicians and members of the healthcare team on complex hematological and oncological cases.
Provide patient education about diagnoses, treatment options, and disease management to support informed decision‑making.
Conduct regular follow‑up visits to monitor patient progress, adjust treatments as needed, and provide ongoing support.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
Skills & Qualifications
Strong understanding of Hem/Onc principles, treatments, and procedures.
Excellent clinical judgment and the ability to make critical decisions in high‑pressure situations.
Effective communication of complex information to patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Expertise in performing and interpreting diagnostic tests.
Flexibility to adapt to new work environments and different medical teams.
Minimum Education & Training
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
Residency training in internal medicine accredited by ACGME or AOA.
Fellowship training in Hem/Onc.
License & Certification
Board certification in hematology and/or oncology by ABIM or AOBIM.
Active and unrestricted medical license in Washington.
Experience
At least one year of clinical experience providing Hem/Onc care is preferred.
