Key Responsibilities Collaborative Course Development
Work under the guidance of our Instructional Design and Development (IDD) team and Associate Dean of Business in a collaborative, standards-driven course development process
Provide subject matter expertise while adhering to Excelsior's instructional design standards, templates, and workflows
Create original content specifically for Excelsior University that reflects deep expertise and aligns with learning outcomes
Develop comprehensive learning materials including module outcomes, lessons, discussions, activities, assessments, rubrics, and immersive learning experiences
Subject Matter Expertise & Content Creation
Contribute specialized knowledge ensuring accuracy, depth, and relevance in your area of expertise
Create scalable, clear, and maintainable content suitable for multiple instructors
Collaborate with Excelsior's Library and Learning Services team to select appropriate supplemental resources
Ensure all content aligns with current industry best practices and emerging trends
Commitment to Development Timeline
Maintain consistent availability throughout the 14-week development process (approximately 100 hours for graduate courses)
Participate in live, collaborative Zoom meetings during regular business hours (2-4 hours per week)
Meet predetermined deadlines for milestones and deliverables
Respond to communications from the IDD team within 24 hours during business days
Future Teaching Opportunities
Potential to serve as course instructor for developed courses
Apply doctoral-level pedagogy and adult learning principles
Mentor doctoral students in bridging theory and practice
Maintain high academic and professional standards in all interactions
Required Qualifications Academic Credentials
Doctoral degree (PhD, DBA, EdD) required
Advanced degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field relevant to specific course expertise required
Professional Experience
Minimum 10-15 years of high-level industry experience in senior executive, consulting, or specialized professional roles
Demonstrated thought leadership in one or more of the specific DBA course areas listed above
C-suite executive experience, senior consulting roles, or equivalent strategic leadership positions
Proven track record of applying theoretical concepts to solve complex business challenges
Educational Experience
Experience working with doctoral students or teaching doctoral-level courses preferred but not required for candidates with exceptional subject matter expertise
Understanding of adult learning principles and competency-based education
Familiarity with online and hybrid learning environments preferred
Commitment to academic rigor and scholarly standards
Preferred Qualifications
Current or recent C-suite executive experience
Management consulting experience with top-tier firms
Published research in peer-reviewed business journals
Professional certifications relevant to area of expertise
Experience with online and hybrid learning environments

Availability Requirement: Consistent availability throughout project timeline with no long-term absences (10+ days)
Technology Requirements: Computer access for screen sharing and collaboration (camera on strongly preferred)
Communication Standards
Respond to IDD team communications within 24 hours during business days
Maintain professional, constructive communication with all team members
Attend scheduled collaborative meetings and meet predetermined deadlines
Compensation & Benefits
