Mid‑Level WordPress/Gutenberg Developer – Remote
Project Preferred Consultant Database (PCD) Proof‑of‑Concept – ongoing contract with potential extension to full migration.
Duration & Rate Ongoing contract. $40‑45/hour W2.
Location Remote.

Responsibilities
Lead custom WordPress plugin development for business logic and data models.
Build Gutenberg blocks and React components for user interfaces.
Implement REST API endpoints for data access and integrations.
Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Assist with data migration from .NET/MSSQL to WordPress/MySQL.
Integrate with external systems through RESTful APIs and implement authentication and authorization patterns.
Collaborate with QA, senior developers, and architects on technical decisions and sprint planning.
Success Metrics
Code coverage 90%+ with zero critical vulnerabilities.
Complete tickets within sprint commitments.
Positive peer reviews and strong communication.
Continuous improvement in WordPress Multi‑Site and Gutenberg expertise.
Required Skills & Experience
WordPress Expertise (3‑5 years) – Multi‑Site architecture, custom plugin development, REST API, security, performance optimization.
Gutenberg/React Development (2‑4 years) – Gutenberg block development, React fundamentals, JavaScript ES6+, WordPress data layer.
Database & Integration (2‑4 years) – MySQL/MariaDB optimization, REST API integration, data migration ETL, Git.
Enterprise Development Practices – CI/CD pipelines, code quality tools, Agile methodologies, documentation.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
TypeScript for React components.
WP‑CLI command‑line management.
AI‑augmented development (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor).
Legacy .NET/MSSQL knowledge for migration context.
WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards for component development.
