Lecturer/Senior Lecturer – Clinical Education, Nutrition & Dietetics Location: Kensington, Sydney, Australia

Employment type: Full‑time (35 hours a week)

Duration: Continuing

Remuneration: $127k – $178k base + 17% superannuation and leave loading

Work rights: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must hold full rights to work in Australia to be considered for this position.

Overview The School of Health Sciences at UNSW is rapidly expanding to service education agendas based on four ground‑breaking health professional education programs. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of the nutrition and dietetics clinical placement programmes for the School of Health Sciences. This role reports to the Discipline Lead, Nutrition and Dietetics.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate clinical education curricula and placement programmes.

Collaborate with placement teams across all disciplines to enhance the overall development, direction and guidance of the School’s clinical education capabilities.

Maintain discipline knowledge and contribute to clinical educational practice and scholarship.

Support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and contribute to student equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Provide leadership and mentorship to staff and undergraduates in the discipline.

Qualifications Level B (Essential)

Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) or eligibility and willingness to seek accreditation as an APD.

A PhD in Nutrition and Dietetics or related health disciplines is preferred; significant relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a PhD.

Demonstrated experience with industry and work‑integrated learning and clinical education.

Proven commitment to proactive maintenance of discipline knowledge and development.

Experience in teaching and learning design, development and delivery of courses and programmes at undergraduate/postgraduate level, particularly related to clinical education and WIL.

Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.

Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Level C (Desirable)

Significant experience in teaching and learning design using a range of pedagogical approaches at undergraduate/postgraduate level, specifically in clinical education/WIL.

Minimum of postgraduate qualifications relevant to the position (e.g. learning and teaching related).

Evidence of professional development in teaching and a strong track record of teaching excellence.

Demonstrated success in initiating curriculum development and improvement.

Demonstrated track record in research (scholarship of learning and teaching) with high quality, high impact outcomes to improve education and/or health outcomes.

Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence and fostering this in others.
