Job Title: Event Sales Manager
Department: Partnership Relations
Employment Status: Full time, salaried Exempt
Salary: $80,000 to $90,000, DOE
Salary is adjusted for local market rates
Position Summary The Event Sales Manager plays a key role in driving revenue and engagement through strategic promotion and sales of museum-hosted events. This position is responsible for identifying and cultivating event sales opportunities, managing client relationships, and ensuring seamless coordination between internal departments and external partners. As a representative of the museum’s mission and values, the Event Sales Manager delivers exceptional service while promoting the museum as a premier venue for corporate, nonprofit, and private events. This role requires strong sales acumen, organizational skills, and a passion for cultural and faith-based engagement.
Duties & Responsibilities
Proactively identify and pursue event sales opportunities with corporate, nonprofit, and private clients.
Develop and maintain relationships with event clients, vendors, and partners.
Conduct site tours and presentations to prospective clients.
Collaborate with internal teams (Events, Development, Guest Services) to ensure successful execution of events.
Manage contracts, proposals, and event logistics from inquiry to completion.
Track sales performance and maintain accurate records of client interactions.
Support marketing efforts for event promotion and lead generation.
Meet or exceed individual and team sales goals.
Qualifications & Requirements Knowledge Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, hospitality, or related field.
Skills / Core Competencies
Proven experience in event sales, hospitality, or venue management.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Proficiency in CRM and event management software.
Energetic, self-motivated, and goal-oriented.
Abilities / Attributes
Passionate about the Bible and committed to the museum’s mission.
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
As needed, inclusion in official or incidental photographs and videos for MOTB and/or guests.
