Base pay range $160,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr
About Us JM Eagle is the world’s largest manufacturer of plastic pipe, delivering infrastructure that connects and protects communities across North America. Behind every operation is a secure network and IT backbone that keeps our 1,000+ users running around the clock.
The Opportunity We are expanding that backbone — and looking for a
hands‑on IT Security & Network Lead
to take ownership of our cybersecurity program and network integrity across 20+ locations.
This role is ideal for a senior security engineer ready to step up into leadership of systems, vendors, and strategy — without losing the technical edge. You’ll spend about 60% of your time focused on cybersecurity (tools, monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management) and 40% on network infrastructure (SD‑WAN, firewalls, VPN, and wireless support).
You’ll partner closely with the Director of IT Operations, managing outsourced partners, ensuring our environment stays secure, and building scalable frameworks to protect data and systems companywide.
This is a high‑visibility, individual‑contributor role, with major influence and matrixed responsibilities across IT infrastructure, services, and business applications.
What You’ll Do
Own JM Eagle’s day‑to‑day cybersecurity operations — policies, monitoring, risk mitigation, and incident response.
Manage security tools and services (endpoint protection, SIEM, MFA, SSO, VPN, firewalls, vulnerability management).
Conduct regular vulnerability scans, penetration tests, and remediation tracking.
Monitor and respond to security alerts using tools like Fortinet, Darktrace, CrowdStrike, Nessus, and Microsoft Defender.
Lead awareness training and social‑engineering simulations across the company.
Oversee network and remote‑access security — SD‑WAN, internet filtering, firewall configuration, VPN, and secure connectivity.
Collaborate with IT leadership to implement cybersecurity governance and monthly security briefings.
Partner with vendors and third‑party service providers to strengthen security posture and network resilience.
Maintain documentation of security processes, configurations, and system updates.
Stay ahead of evolving threats and bring forward recommendations to continuously improve our defenses.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
8+ years of experience in IT security and network engineering within a distributed environment (1,000+ users, 5+ sites).
4+ years of hands‑on experience managing enterprise security solutions.
Deep knowledge of security technologies: MFA, SSO, VPN, endpoint protection, SIEM, encryption, network segmentation.
Familiarity with SD‑WAN, mobile / wireless technologies, and network monitoring.
Understanding of ITIL, ITSM, and NIST frameworks; CISSP or similar certification preferred.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
Proven ability to manage vendors, contractors, and outsourced security partners.
A self‑starter mindset — someone who owns the problem and drives it to resolution.
Why JM Eagle
Lead a critical modernization effort for the world’s largest pipe manufacturer.
Join a Microsoft‑based enterprise with full executive support for IT transformation.
Manage technology that powers 1,000+ users and 20+ distributed sites across North America.
Onsite 4 days per week in Los Angeles; remote Fridays for focused work.

Benefits include medical insurance, pension plan, disability insurance, tuition assistance, paid paternity leave, paid maternity leave, 401(k), and vision insurance.
