Technical Recruiter at Acro Service Corp. Position Title: Payroll Accountant (Hybrid)

Duration: 06 months Contract on W2 (Possible extension) - Part Time (20 hrs./week)

Position Description:

Under the direction of the Chief Accountant and Manager and/or Controller, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of the RTA’s payroll using Automatic Data Processing, Inc. (ADP).

This role is responsible for reconciling payroll accounts, generating and distributing payroll reports.

The incumbent will coordinate with HR to verify the accuracy of employee benefits and deductions, while maintaining the confidentiality and security of payroll data, and addressing employee queries related to payroll.

Will work with staff on special projects as necessary.

Process and prepare the bi-weekly and monthly payrolls for RTA employees using ADP in a timely and accurate manner.

Run payroll reports in ADP, process payroll date changes in ADP, monitor ADP timecard submission, approvals, timekeeping policy for exempt and non-exempt employees.

Provides training and guidance to staff on ADP.

Prepare payroll invoices and submit them to Accounts Payable, process payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll accounts, prepare checks, and wire transfer requests for payroll deductions.

Reviews payments for accuracy and submits on a timely basis.

Analyze, prepare, and maintain spreadsheets that calculate monthly detail payroll activities.

Analyze general ledger account reconciliations monthly.

Investigate any variances and record any correcting or reclassification entries as necessary.

Act in a manner that is consistent with the RTA’s policies.

Ensure the confidentiality of all information.

Internal Contacts with:

Has frequent contact with Human Resources regarding payroll and special requests.

Has infrequent contact with RTA staff, giving and receiving information.

External Contacts with:

Has frequent contact with payroll processing service (ADP), giving and receiving payroll information.

Has occasional contact with external auditors in relationship to payroll accounts, under the direction of the Chief Accountant and Manager and Controller.

Education:

Knowledge, skills, and abilities equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Business required (Accounting or Finance plus).

Experience:

Between one year and three (1–3) years’ experience working in an automated accounting environment required.

Preferably working on General Ledger, Banking, Accounts Payables and/or Payroll or comparable experience.

Between one year and three (1-3) years’ experience with ADP.

Knowledge with Infor Cloud suite Financial is a plus.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office products (Word/Excel) and accounting software programs, specifically A/P systems.

Proficiency in payroll processing and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software required.

Abilities:

Strong analytical ability with sound knowledge of finance and accounting principles.

Good organization skills and ability to multitask efficiently.

The ability to work in a fast-paced professional environment, have high attention to detail, and ability to be self-motivated.

Knowledge of record retention requirements and ability to maintain confidential information.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to establish and maintain a congenial working relationship with other employees and the public.

Hybrid 2 days a week in office

Non-payroll week – Wednesday, work remotely, Thur. & Fri in office

Payroll week – Mon. & Tues. in office, Wednesday work remotely
