Overview Join a leading engineering and manufacturing partner seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead and support the design, development, and delivery of high-performance mechanical systems. This role is essential in driving project success, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring product excellence from concept to completion.
Job Duties
Lead the design and development of mechanical systems and components
Collaborate with sales, project management, procurement, and production teams
Mentor junior engineers and support team growth
Work with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD Inventor, Vault) to create 3D models and drawings
Create designs that meet customer specs, industry standards, and regulatory compliance
Focus on manufacturability and ease of assembly while maintaining performance and reliability
Analyze customer feedback and apply design improvements
Produce and test prototypes, interpret results, and refine designs
Troubleshoot design and production challenges
Manage engineering change control
Support projects through all phases, from concept to final delivery
Ensure project timelines and deliverables are met
Some travel or after-hours availability may be required
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET accredited)
10+ years of engineering experience in mechanical system design
Experience with UL standards (UL 891, UL 1558, UL 67, UL 857, UL 1008, UL 62368 / 60950) preferred
Background in electrical power distribution design is a plus
Strong proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD Inventor, Vault, and Microsoft Office
Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical design expertise
Ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal teams
