Chief Engineer
The Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing all aspects of building maintenance, operations, and mechanical systems to ensure the property remains safe, functional, and compliant with all regulations. This role supervises engineering staff, coordinates with vendors and contractors, and implements preventive maintenance programs to optimize efficiency and extend the life of building systems. Lead, supervise, and train engineering and maintenance staff. Oversee the operation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, elevators, and other mechanical systems. Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and equipment failures. Monitor and maintain compliance with building codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Coordinate and supervise contractors and vendors performing maintenance, repairs, or capital projects. Manage department budgets, track expenses, and prepare reports as required. Respond promptly to emergency situations, system failures, and service requests. Maintain accurate records of inspections, work orders, and equipment logs. Recommend and implement energy conservation and cost‑saving measures. Ensure proper inventory and ordering of parts, supplies, and equipment.
