Position Summary The Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing all maintenance and engineering operations for a Condominium in Downtown Miami. This position ensures that all building systems are operating efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all applicable codes and regulations. The Chief Engineer will lead the maintenance team, manage vendor relationships, coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance programs, and provide weekly reports to management.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the engineering and maintenance team, including scheduling, training, and performance management.

Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of all building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety, and elevators.

Maintain and monitor preventive maintenance schedules to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity.

Inspect property regularly to identify and address maintenance needs proactively.

Coordinate with contractors and vendors for major repairs, inspections, and capital improvement projects.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and system logs.

Prepare and submit detailed weekly reports to the General Manager summarizing completed work, upcoming projects, and any areas of concern.

Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, OSHA standards, and local building codes.

Assist with annual budget planning for maintenance operations, tools, and equipment.

Collaborate with management to develop and implement sustainability and energy-efficiency initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum of

5 years

of experience in a high-rise residential, commercial, or hospitality engineering leadership role.

Strong understanding of all building trades, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

Proven ability to manage a team and delegate responsibilities effectively.

Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Computer literate

with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, building automation systems (BAS), and work order management platforms.

EPA Universal Certification, HVAC license, or similar technical certifications preferred.

Ability to respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.

This position involves both administrative and hands‑on responsibilities.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.

Typical schedule: Monday–Friday with flexibility for after-hours or weekend emergencies.

Salary Salary- $100-115000 per year
