Overview The National MS Society mobilizes people and resources to drive research, advocacy, education, and support services. We partner with volunteers and staff to accomplish our mission.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a regional portfolio of high‑capacity donors and prospects, focusing on six‑ and seven‑figure transformational gifts.
Build and strengthen the portfolio through strategic research, key event attendance, and collaboration with colleagues and volunteers.
Drive donor acquisition and long‑term pipeline growth, partnering with internal teams and the Prospect Research group.
Stay current on national and global funding opportunities and priorities for informed donor engagement.
Support national fundraising campaigns, aligning with organizational goals.
Oversee all stages of the donor lifecycle, from identification to stewardship.
Partner cross‑functionally to identify, cultivate, and advance relationships with new and existing major gift prospects.
Participate in regular portfolio reviews for strategy refinement.
Collaborate with leadership to craft compelling cases for support and develop tailored proposals.
Align within Development for a cohesive donor experience and major gift upgrades.
Implement stewardship plans to retain donors, deepen engagement, and increase long‑term investment.
Provide fundraising insights and contribute to revenue forecasting.
Utilize CRM and tools effectively for data management and KPI accountability.
Qualifications
Advanced fundraising experience, with expertise in prospect qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
Proven leadership and accomplishment in pipeline development, acquisition planning, and revenue generation.
Ability to assess staff talent, mentor, and train others toward shared goals.
Experience supporting broad, technical fundraising campaigns, securing major gifts.
Nonprofit experience with increasing responsibility, successfully driving 6‑7 figure gifts.
Track record of innovative fundraising strategies that drive engagement and revenue growth.
Strong project management, strategic planning, negotiation skills.
Advanced CRM expertise and data analytics proficiency.
Location & Travel This is a
field‑based role
supporting the
Southeast Region
with
30%+ travel
for events, training, and meetings. Candidates must reside in the region or plan relocation.
Compensation & Benefits Estimated range:
$140,000–$165,000 . Final offer based on location, experience, and other factors.
