2 x Infrastructure Engineer – Systematic Hedge Fund A high-growth systematic trading firm is hiring 2 x Infrastructure Engineers. This group is responsible for managing their Windows and virtualisation environment, spanning Windows 11, Windows Server 2019, a large-scale vSphere plant, and Horizon VDI underpinning one of the world's most sophisticated trading environments. You’ll be joining a highly technical, software-first firm where automation and CI/CD practices are embedded into everything. Engineers here are empowered to write PowerShell integrations, develop deployment pipelines, and lead projects from day one. Team members will work as true generalists yet with SME items. The Team
Manage and enhance a large-scale on-prem Windows and virtualisation environment Work across Windows 11, Windows Server 2019, and a near 100% VDI estate (HorizonView) Design, maintain, and automate AD, DNS, and Group Policy configurations Leverage PowerShell for workflow automation, integration testing, and system improvements Collaborate with global teams on infrastructure modernisation and expansion projects Engage in CI/CD-driven engineering — contributing to a shared codebases and large PowerShell repositories Roles
These hires will work across all arrays of infrastructure but will also be expected to develop an SME level knowledge within a particular sub-area: Looking for an engineer with ~5 to 7 years' experience to become an SME within Active Directory — covering large-scale AD Deployments, Group Policies, DNS, etc. Will need to have an existing generalist background with some strong experience within AD. Looking for an engineer with +10 years' experience to become a specialist within Desktop as a Service — covering deployment processes, patching policies, package management, Azure stack, VDI, and O365. Will need to have an existing generalist background but also expert knowledge in either VMware or HorizonView. Requirements
Experience supporting large-scale Windows infrastructure Strong on-prem experience — able to troubleshoot domain controllers VDI technologies (i.e. VMware Horizon or Omnissa) Virtualisation experience preferred — VMware vSphere Active Directory experience PowerShell and automation skills Proven experience troubleshooting DNS and AD replication Understanding of network fundamentals, Azure AD Connect, and O365 Background in financial services or trading environments Company Highlights
