Position Summary The Hospitality, Culinary Arts, and Tourism Institute (HCAT) Part Time Instructor is a member of the program team dedicated to promoting world‑class hospitality education at Anne Arundel Community College. The Part Time Instructor will be responsible for the delivery of educational content to HCAT students. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full‑time basis. Employment‑based visa sponsorship (including H‑1B and TN sponsorship) is not available for any position. The college will annually review the list of eligible states and may expand it if appropriate. Pay dates occur on the 7th and 22nd of each month, adjusted if they fall on a weekend. If selected, you will be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Provide instruction of Hospitality, Culinary, and/or Baking & Pastry courses in the HCAT Institute as directed by enrollments and as assigned by your supervisor on a semester basis.

Prepare daily instructional lesson plans based upon agreed curriculum and instruct in a manner consistent with the philosophy, policies, and guidelines of the college.

Instruct lectures and hands‑on classes on campus, off campus or remotely to a standard consistent with the professional standards of Anne Arundel Community College.

Ensure that a variety of technologies are incorporated into the delivery of assigned courses.

Attend all departmental, divisional and assigned association meetings as requested.

Maintain professional and effective communications and mutually beneficial relationships with all departments in related program areas.

Assess the learning outcomes listed in the course guide or syllabus of the class.

File course grades consistently and with 100% accuracy.

Required Qualifications

Associate’s degree and an executive level ACF certification or comparable industry certification or Bachelor’s Degree.

Combination of hospitality, culinary, and/or baking and pastry related education and industry experience required.

Five years of related industry experience required.

Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to work with minimal supervision with attention to details and deadlines.

Ability to teach nights and weekends.

Familiarity with Microsoft computer applications such as word processing, database management or industry specific point of sales systems. Knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred.
