Idaho Power – Design and AutoCAD Drafting Specialist Idaho Power, located in vibrant Boise, Idaho, is looking for a Design and AutoCAD Drafting Specialist to join our Planning, Engineering, and Construction team. This position plays a critical role in communities across Idaho and Oregon and is based at Idaho Power’s downtown Boise location. Flexible schedules and up to 40% remote work are available. Responsibilities A Design and AutoCAD Drafting Specialist supports Station Engineers, Station Designers, and Station Leaders in creating accurate and complete design packages, standards documentation, and construction specifications. Key duties include:

Producing complete, accurate engineering documents using AutoCAD, AssetSuite, Access, Excel, and PDF editing software.

Generating working drawings and illustrations from sketches, notes, and catalog information.

Creating and managing material requests, bills of material, and cable lists.

Resolving material discrepancies between bills of material and material requests.

Maintaining the CAD manual, block libraries, standard modules, manufacturer drawings, project processes, and engineering documentation.

Developing and delivering CAD training for engineers and designers.

Providing troubleshooting support for CAD issues and assisting designers and consultants throughout the design process.

Managing engineering documents and drawings within the document management system.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements

Associate degree in a related field or completion of a two‑year vocational/technical training program.

Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Two (2) years of experience in utility structural drafting, control drafting, or a related field.

Preferred: Three (3) years of experience in station design/construction processes and procedures.

Preferred: Associate degree in CADD technology.
