Position Overview GFOA is seeking an

Office Manager

to oversee daily office operations and guest services. This role ensures that GFOA’s Chicago office supports employees, members, and visitors by maintaining a professional environment, coordinating equipment and workspace needs, and providing concierge-level support during member training events. The Office Manager also leads workplace safety initiatives and represents GFOA on building-related matters. This is a full‑time, onsite position based in GFOA’s Chicago office, Monday through Friday.

Salary Base pay range: $60,000 – $75,000 per year. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.

Responsibilities Job duties will include but are not limited to:

Serve as the primary point of contact during on‑site member training events.

Coordinate logistics, room setup, and hospitality for a professional guest experience.

Assist with light furniture moves and event setup.

Coordinate and support efforts to ensure an organized and professional office environment.

Coordinate office maintenance and facility updates.

Represent GFOA on the building’s tenant council.

Oversee purchase and organization of office supplies.

Partner with HR to support onboarding and workstation setup.

Manage requests for new or different furniture and equipment.

Ensure ergonomic and functional needs are met.

Oversee procurement and setup of office furniture and equipment.

Coordinate safety training and emergency drills with building management.

Maintain compliance with workplace safety regulations.

Qualifications

Experience in hospitality or in hospitality‑adjacent roles.

Hands‑on experience working in office settings and a practical understanding of the day‑to‑day needs of a well‑functioning workplace.

Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and multitasking skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

A proactive, customer service mindset.

Familiarity with workplace safety protocols.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
