Head of Manufacturing Science and Technology - Project Delivery
Join Roche as the Head of Manufacturing Science and Technology – Project Delivery within our New Patient Care (NPC) Operations. You will own end‑to‑end project delivery, lead a global team of project managers across Mannheim, Indianapolis and Rotkreuz, and drive the transformation of our manufacturing science and technology organization.
Responsibilities
Lead a high‑performing team of 12‑18 project managers and specialists, fostering a unified cross‑site culture and driving global innovation.
Own end‑to‑end accountability for project delivery, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule and intended business outcomes.
Establish and operate a Project Management Office (PMO) that creates transparency of portfolio KPIs and resource availability, enabling effective prioritization and planning.
Partner closely with portfolio management, supply functions and investment program management to prioritize projects and align with strategic objectives.
Drive cross‑functional projects, such as technology transfers and product care projects, providing leadership to program managers and user team leads.
Champion change initiatives, empower teams, and foster an environment where exceptional results are enabled.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in a technical, business or scientific discipline.
10+ years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical/diagnostics industry, with at least 5 years in project management and building external manufacturing partnerships.
Experience managing a cross‑site project management organization and elevating team performance.
Strong contract management expertise, analytical skills, structured thinking and a passion for delivering projects.
Business fluency in English and excellent communication skills; natural team player with the ability to communicate complex topics clearly.
Location Mannheim, Germany or Indianapolis, United States – requiring a commitment to spend 30% on business travel.
