Senior Compliance Specialist
We’re seeking a detail-oriented Senior Compliance Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role plays a critical part in the compliance and regulatory filing process and will collaborate closely with departments including Legal, Underwriting, Actuarial, and IT. You will work closely with the executive management team to ensure compliance with all aspects of our reciprocal structure, including regulatory filings, governance requirements, operational procedures, and adherence to state-specific insurance regulations. You will also be responsible for preparing and submitting rate, rule, and form filings, managing regulatory communications, and supporting the implementation of approved filing.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and interpret state and federal regulatory changes impacting Commercial and Personal property insurance
Prepare and manage rate, rule, and form filings across multiple jurisdictions
Submit filings via SERFF, FLOIR or other State Regulators and respond timely to inquiries or objections.
Monitor, manage and document filings, extensions, resubmissions, and withdrawals in accordance with state guidelines.
Serve as a key liaison with Insurance Departments, building a strong rapport to facilitate communication and expedite filing approvals.
Support implementation of approved filings by updating tracking tools and coordinating with IT for system updates.
Participate in product planning by analyzing competitor filings and monitoring regulatory changes.
Assist in creating compliance training materials and establishing best practices.
Help coordinate responses to internal and state insurance department audits.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in insurance regulatory filings or compliance.
Proficient in SERFF and OIR systems.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
Reciprocal experience is a plus
