Overview

Assistant Director of Sales & Events at Hyatt Regency Morristown. Reports to the Area Director of Sales & Events. 18–24 month commitment to develop into a future Director. Responsibilities

Develop and execute annual sales and marketing plan to achieve room and catering revenue targets. Lead, coach, and mentor sales and event managers to drive performance, client engagement, and conversion. Participate in key account management, site visits, and client negotiations to secure high‑value business. Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor performance, and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities. Oversee group and catering event coordination from contract to completion, ensuring flawless execution and guest satisfaction. Partner with operations, culinary, and banquet teams to ensure events meet brand standards and client expectations. Assist in preparing and managing departmental budgets, forecasts, and performance reports. Review sales and event contracts for accuracy and compliance with hotel policies. Support the Director of Sales & Events in driving profitability through strategic pricing, space utilization, and cost management. Provide leadership and professional development to the sales and events team. Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training of team members. Foster a positive, inclusive, and performance‑driven culture aligned with Hyatt values. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in hotel sales and/or event management, with leadership exposure. Strong understanding of hotel sales processes, catering operations, and event management systems (e.g., Delphi, CI/TY, or similar). Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast‑paced environment. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills. Demonstrated leadership ability with a focus on collaboration, mentorship, and accountability. Strategic thinking and business acumen. Salary

The salary range for this position is $88,800 to $105,000.
