Automation Engineer (Starlink Growth) – SpaceX – Redondo Beach, CA

The Auton​omation‑Engineer role focuses on building, maintaining, and improving automation solutions that accelerate growth and monetization across the Starlink network.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain high‑quality automation to support growing the Starlink customer base, launching new markets, and enhancing customer experience.

Design, implement, and manage alerts and monitoring for all automation systems.

Own automation status reporting, including health metrics and usage data.

Collaborate with engineering and business teams to migrate automation to website‑integrated solutions when appropriate.

Develop well‑scoped experiments to test growth hypotheses.

Write and maintain comprehensive documentation and best‑practice guides.

Communicate automation performance and opportunities to leadership with quantitative and qualitative updates.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, mathematics, or STEM discipline.

1+ years of experience in engineering, software, data analytics, venture capital, management consulting, or operations/product management at a technology company.

1+ years of experience with Python.

Preferred Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, mathematics, physics, or engineering.

Proficiency in SQL and Python.

Understanding of database structures, query optimizations, and ETL development.

Demonstrated skills with automation tools (VBA, Python, C#, etc.).

Experience thriving in a high‑growth, fast‑paced, rapidly changing environment.

Strong project management and self‑directed prioritization skills.

Effective communication of technical concepts to non‑technical audiences at all organizational levels.

Ability to build and sustain strong relationships across disciplines and multiple management levels.

Additional Requirements

Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed.

Willingness to travel to corporate customer sites, other SpaceX locations, and industry events as needed.

Compensation and Benefits Operations (Automations) Engineer Level I: $95,000 – $115,000 per year. Operations (Automations) Engineer Level II: $110,000 – $130,000 per year.
