Pediatric Clinical Pharmacist – HCA Houston Healthcare Location : Houston, TX

Salary : $93,400.00 – $161,000.00 (annual)

Description We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Pharmacist with a strong focus on pediatrics to join The Woman’s Hospital of Texas, part of the HCA Healthcare network. The role requires clinical expertise, patient stewardship, and collaboration with medical staff to support optimal medication therapy for patients of all ages.

Responsibilities

Interpret, fill, and check physician orders for all medication classes.

Accurately compound and supervise IV admixtures according to physician orders.

Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state and federal laws, and pharmacy standards of practice.

Manage drug distribution processes, including prepackaging, floor stock, and controlled substance dispensing.

Reconcile medication administration records (MARs) and review antibiotic sensitivities regularly.

Consult with medical staff and patients regarding medication information, drug interactions, and contraindications.

Provide hands‑on supervision and direction for pharmacy support staff.

Promote positive customer service with internal and external customers.

Assist in Acudose, Robotic, and Meditech maintenance and upgrades.

Perform quality‑monitoring functions and other job‑related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Current Texas State Board of Pharmacy license in good standing.

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an accredited program.

Experience with computerized pharmacy systems and IV admixture/ unit dose drug distribution systems.

Minimum one (1) year of hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
